IndiGolf is a bespoke game at a new master planned community in Texas that invites neighbors to connect, break the ice, and build lasting relationships. A playful twist on golf played in unique, thoughtfully designed works of art, the project elevates existing placemaking practices by leveraging play for all ages as a powerful catalyst to nourish community.
This project was developed along with our visionary clients Meristem Communities and their fantastic landscape architect CultivateLand. It is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2025.

Like golf, the game is about putting a ball into a hole in as few strokes as possible. Unlike golf, each hole is played with different equipment. Also unlike golf, each hole shares its space with a unique amenity that adds a distinctive flair to the gameplay at every location.

While golf is awesome, IndiGolf is better suited for community building purposes as it offers a lower barrier to entry, is more social, and more novel. It’s somewhat comparable to the relationship between tennis and pickleball.
-
The community that hosts it, Indigo, and its visionary builders, Meristem Communities, are determined to build a robust sense of belonging and place. So, they are pursuing an innovative approach to building community. A bespoke game for placemaking, the first of its kind, fit right in with their overarching vision.
